Three years of collaboration, innovation and engineering expertise have culminated in the successful completion and handover of Weavers’ Hall, a landmark student accommodation development for Queen’s University Belfast.
Located on Dublin Road in the heart of Belfast, Weavers’ Hall represents a significant milestone in sustainable student accommodation and an exceptional achievement for the Bennett Freehill team.
Appointed in May 2023, Bennett Freehill has played an integral role in the project from initial concept through to completion, providing:
- MEP Design Consultancy
- BREEAM Assessment
- BREEAM Accredited Professional services
- Passivhaus Design
Working closely with GRAHAM, RPP Architects and the wider design and construction team, we have helped deliver a high-performance building that combines ambitious sustainability targets with quality engineering design and modern student living.
Progressing towards full Passivhaus certification, Weavers’ Hall is set to become one of the most significant Passivhaus student accommodation developments on the island of Ireland, subject to formal certification.
A milestone for our team. A benchmark for sustainable design.
For Bennett Freehill, this project demonstrates the strength of our integrated building services and sustainability expertise, and our ability to deliver complex, large-scale developments from concept to completion. Most importantly, it reflects the commitment, technical expertise and collaboration of our growing team.
Our thanks to Queen’s University Belfast, GRAHAM, RPP Architects and all our project partners for their collaboration in bringing this landmark development to completion.
Together, we’re setting the standard for sustainable design across the UK and Ireland.
