The Passivhaus Trust has confirmed that Passivhaus certification is now recognised as a deemed-to-satisfy route for certain aspects of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard at Practical Completion.
This is a significant step for the industry, helping to reduce duplication in assessment while recognising the strength of Passivhaus as a quality-assured, performance-led methodology.
At Bennett Freehill, we see this as further evidence of the growing alignment between Passivhaus, operational energy reduction, renewable energy targets and the wider move towards measurable Net Zero Carbon outcomes.
Passivhaus continues to provide clients and design teams with a clear, robust route to buildings that are not only low energy, but also comfortable, healthy and resilient in operation.
