Connolly Barracks Training Facilities Set to Begin Construction

We are delighted to share that the redevelopment of training facilities at Connolly Barracks in Longford has been approved to proceed to construction. With work commencing on-site in January 2025, this project marks a significant milestone in our partnership with the Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board (LWETB).

The project will repurpose the historic former gymnasium into state-of-the-art workshops to support the introduction of electrical apprenticeship training. Additionally, the former ration store building will be reimagined into a modern welfare facility, complete with a canteen, new entrance lobby, and linked glazed extension. This significant investment not only preserves the heritage of Connolly Barracks but also paves the way for enhanced educational opportunities in the region.

Our role as MEP designers ensures that the facilities will meet the highest standards for energy efficiency, comfort, and functionality. We are proud to contribute to a project that aligns with national policies for expanding apprenticeship schemes and supporting lifelong learning. We look forward to seeing these plans come to life and providing the technical expertise needed to deliver exceptional spaces for both learners and educators.
