The Bennett Freehill team is delighted that planning permission has been granted for Purpose Built Managed (PBM) Student Accommodation for Queen’s University Belfast (17th April 2024).
We are undertaking 3 key roles on this landmark project – M&E Engineers, BREEAM Assessors and Passivhaus Consultant, as part of GRAHAM’s Building North team, the University’s Design & Build Contractor.
The development is anticipated to comprise 459 bedrooms and is the largest certified Passivhaus project on the island of Ireland and the first ultra-low emission multi-occupancy building in Belfast city centre.
Caroline Young, Vice-President of Students and Corporate Services at Queen’s University Belfast, said:
“The site at Dublin road will house up to 459 students, offering the first ultra-low emission multi-occupancy building in the city centre. We are delighted to be at the forefront of such a significant milestone for sustainable development in Belfast and beyond, which resonates with the Belfast City Council’s aim to future proof the city for generations to come.”
Congratulations to the entire team for getting the project to this significant milestone.
